John Corrigan is the founder and principal of John C. Corrigan & Associates, LLC.
John C. Corrigan & Associates, LLC is a public affairs consulting firm, providing a full range of advocacy strategies and techniques for clients in the public and private sectors. The firm counsels a large range of clients on how best to proactively, effectively and honestly engage in and influence the public policy process. Mr. Corrigan has extensive experience in budget and appropriations negotiations, state procurement, and legislative processes.
John is also the former Democratic Committeeman of Chicago’s 42nd Ward. The 42nd Ward encompasses the Gold Coast, Streeterville, Near North, River West and River North neighborhoods on Chicago’s north side and the Loop neighborhood in downtown Chicago. The 42nd Ward is an economic engine for the City, the gateway to many of the City’s visitors and a great place to live and work.
John has a unique knowledge of the Illinois General Assembly and its staff gained from working as special counsel to Senate President Emil Jones, Jr. on the State’s intensive decennial redistricting project. The legislative map and subsequent elections since 2002 have produced a super majority for the Senate Democratic Caucus (37 of 59 members) and large majority for the House Democratic Caucus (67 of 118 members).
John also maintains strong relationships with the Speaker Michael J. Madigan and the House Democratic Caucus, the Governor’s Office and key agencies, the City of Chicago, Cook County and the Illinois Congressional delegation (Mr. Corrigan served as Issues Director for Senator Barack Obama’s Congressional campaign in 2000).
John serves on the Board of the Illinois Council Against Handgun Violence and is a former Board member of Personal PAC. John is also a past President of Democratic Leadership for the 21st Century.
John graduated with honors from DePaul University law school in 1994 and was a member of DePaul’s law review and the Order of the Coif. Mr. Corrigan spent several years as a commercial litigator and trial attorney before shifting his focus to governmental affairs consulting. Mr. Corrigan is also a veteran of the United States Army.
